FLORIDA PHOTOGRAPHER

I remember walking along the coastlines of West Florida one late summer evening with my husband and my son. Our toes were digging into the warm sand as the tide blanketed the floor beneath us. We held hands down the shore as the warmth of the sun began to fade beyond the horizon. My son let go of my husband and I’s hands and scurried to chase the sanderlings that were hanging about our way. My husband hurried behind my son turning his venture into a game of tag. I laughed in that moment and couldn’t help but observed my surroundings: the waves crashing, the coolness of dusk and that little bit of warmth from the fleeting sun, the mist of the ocean’s breeze on my sunburnt body, my son’s laughter – forever preserving this moment as a whole.

It's a moment I certainly will never forget. As a photographer who values the uniqueness of life, I vowed to make more documentations of these moments, and to certainly be able to share this love and appreciation of tender moments with others through photography. It’s something of this that made me obsess over the feelings of those moments, and something being so recent but nostalgic enough to warm me – something I know that will be missed but appreciated with every reminiscence of it.
